Match Review LS4 | Selangor FC 5-2 Terengganu FC | Liga Super Malaysia 2025/26

Selangor FC successfully defended the Red Giants' ground after defeating Terengganu FC with a score of 5-2 at the MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya yesterday for the fourth match of the 2025/26 Super League competition which is also the last match of this month.

The intense action between the #SFCTER who often exchanged attacks started with Terengganu FC almost scoring their first goal in the 7th minute but the offside position ruled out the goal. Ten minutes after that situation, Chrigor Moraes, the Red Giants' new import striker, headed in a long pass from Alvin Fortes in the 17th minute. Then, Noor Al-Rawabdeh made a long pass to Quentin Cheng, he swiped the ball right to Alvin Fortes and the goal was scored after Alvin Fortes blasted the ball in the 24th minute. Next, Noor Al Rawabdeh made a long cross from the middle of the field, the ball fell in front of Chrigor Moraes, beat the opponent's goalkeeper, and immediately scored the second goal with his right foot. Chrigor Moraes ended the first half by completing his first ever hat-trick, this time using his left foot after receiving another pass from Noor Al Rawabdeh. In the second half, Terengganu FC scored twice in the 69th and 83rd minutes before Izwan Yuslan, the young striker of the Red and Yellows, brought the ball forward and went on to score Selangor FC's fifth goal during the 90+6 stoppage time.

According to Katsuhito Kinoshi, Head Coach of Selangor FC, he is proud of the players and hopes that the team will continue to progress well.

“I am very proud of the players, especially after the defeat in the previous match. They have worked hard to be at this level, and tonight their efforts were rewarded with a victory. I would like to congratulate them for the commitment and spirit they have shown. This is part of our process as a team, and it is important to continue to build on this momentum, especially with the tight schedule for this season. In the world of football, many factors influence the results of a team's situation, but the most important thing is the team's determination to continue to improve and become a better team over time,” he said.

The players performed with great enthusiasm in the #SFCTER match yesterday from the goalkeepers to the forwards including the substitute players. This victory is the result of their hard work. Hopefully the team can give it better for the matches in September.

However, this victory would not have been meaningful without the 6,055 fans who came to enliven the MBPJ Stadium and give their strong support to the players. Without you, this victory would have been meaningless. Thank you.

The Malaysian League will take a short break to make way for the FIFA Calendar which starts from 1st to 9th September. Several players such as Noor Al-Rawabdeh, Muhammad Abualnadi and Omid Musawi have been called up early to join their respective national teams.
